Grand Oak Community Clean-up
The Annual Grand Oak Community Clean-up held on April 17 was another success. 18 people from the condos and single unit homes participated. They were divided into eight areas to spread out to all the community open spaces.

Ten bags of trash were collected, including trash pulled from the detention ponds and creek areas, and bushes, extending over our community trails, were trimmed. Some culverts still need to be cleaned out and should be monitored during the summer “rain” months to avoid clogging and erosion.

We thank Genoa Township and Delaware County for helping with the clean-up. The County provided bags, gloves, pick-up clamps, and water bottles. Genoa Township parked a one-ton pick-up truck for the trash and disposed of it for us.

We want Grand Oak residents to remember, Clean-Up is a Daily activity.

Thank you.
Evelyn Sonnichsen
GTLCA Trustee

Just as a reminder, if you see trash in the common areas, just adjacent to your home or as you walk the trails, it is helpful to pick it up and dispose of it properly. This will help keep our neighborhood a desirable place to live.

These special meetings were conducted at the Genoa Township Community Hall located at 5111 South Old 3C Highway, Westerville, Ohio 43082.

Community business was discussed as well as the election of new Board members for each Association.

Neighborhood Picnic
The Grand Oak and Retreat at Grand Oak Neighborhood Picnic was held on Sunday, August 23 2009.

Over 20 families met on a beautiful Sunday evening for our first Grand Oak picnic. It was a great event that brought together neighbors from every corner of our neighborhood. The Kids had fun playing badminton, football and volleyball, exploring the trails and having a Popsicle or two! The adults enjoyed each others company and conversation. Corn hole and volleyball games got competitive, but stayed friendly.

Everyone agreed that a casual get together, like the picnic, should be held more often. If you have any interest in helping out with future events, please contact ca@grandoak.org.
