Common Land

The majority of the common land which encompasses the Grand Oak Community is owned and preserved by the Genoa Township Land Conservation Association, but is actually maintained by the Grand Oak Community Association.

This is a great benefit to our community for a number of reasons. It helps preserve the natural beauty of or our neighborhood, and since GTLCA is a non-profit organization, this arrangement enables our Community Association to realize a 100% property tax savings which would otherwise be assessed to the open space property of our community, and in turn increase our yearly Association dues.

The two common land parcels at the southern end of the neighborhood that border Big Walnut Road are owned by Genoa Township and the Olentangy Board of Education.

These land parcels have an interesting history and habitat, and more detailed information can be found here.

A map of the walking trails within the common land can be found here.
